Say something nice (Things I liked about the Doctor Who season 8 finale)

The sad turns in the entire finale - Clara betrays the Doctor. Osgood dies. Master admitted he just wants his friend back. Doctor tried to kill the Master. Danny chooses to not return. Doctor lied to Clara about Gallifrey. Clara lies about Danny. So much darkness.
I like how they changed the entire tone of the season with the new dark Doctor.

Things that scared the shit out of me:
"Don't cremate me."
Cybermen popping from graves.
Danny's face. They made us feel he is dead, physically.
They kind of addressed how scary dying is, even when there is an after life.

"Pain is a gift."
Even physically, if you can't feel pain, you can't heal yourself. Diseases like Leprosy and Diabetic neuropathy hurt you that way. Pain protects you. I liked that bit. They added a emotional dimension to what is clinically evident. They are addressing negative emotions like fear, forgetting pain, having pain, betrayal in a positive way - and that's probably
how we are supposed to deal with life.

"Hug is a way to hide your face."
I like how they explain why 12 is against the hugging. Besides the Clara Doctor hug, another sad hug was the Danny Clara hug. Clara hugs Danny after she turns him into a cyberman. Even though she knew she was deleting his emotions, she didn't want him to see what she had become for him. Betrayed the Doctor and used the Doctor to get him back. And then assisting suicide. Yet Danny taunts the Doctor for acting like an officer. It was very heart breaking.

The humor. That man has no finesse. And then the squee. Then the kill xD

Psychotic missy. I am not surprised, I have always thought of him as a crazy piece of. I like the she pretending to be a droid bit. She made the Doctor ask, "Doctor Who?" :D

There are a lot more! I am sleepy atm and will update a few more.

Add yours as well. ONLY things you loved. Say something nice ;)

12th Doctor is a foodie

He likes food analogies.
"Don't be lasgna."
"Wiping his mind, turning his brain into soup."

Lasagne.
12th Doctor. Soup.
Come to think of it, he was eating a lot in the Robots of Sherwood episode.

12th Doctor. Spoon.
12th Doctor. Apples are rubbish.
And he mentions calories!

12th Doctor. Miracle worker - TARDIS!

What's the point in them being happy now?

Because every time you see them happy, you remember how sad they're going to be. And it breaks your heart. Because what's the point in them being happy now if they're going to be sad later? The answer is, of course, because they're going to be sad later.

Vincent and the Doctor, Series 5, Episode 10.

Well... Um... big question, but, to me Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular, great painter of all time. The most beloved, his command of colour most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world's greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.
- Dr. Black

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. Hey. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Where do you come from?

Well, I suppose the best way to find out where you've come from is to find out where you're going and then work backwards.
