Guide to Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College, Yavatmal.

Hi there!

If you got your admission to Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College, Yavatmal... Congratulations! No, I mean it.
M.B.B.S. is an awesome course, the college is excellent and Yavatmal is a wonderful place =)

Because I can't write it all at once (and since reading it all is boring), I've divided this blog into chapters. Updating each section as and when possible.

Chapter 1: Imagining Yavatmal

When I first heard of the word, I got scared. I lived in Mumbai (under a rock) since forever and never knew that this place exists in Maharashtra. The girl who lived in an urban area was haunted by the rural nightmare.

I Googled it and back in 2010, the word "Yavatmal" had no search results.
"Okay, so it doesn't exist on the internet, no big deal. Try to stay positive.", mom said.

I discovered that there is no train that goes to Yavatmal directly from Mumbai.
I wasn't expecting an airport but a train station is a basic necessity for Mumbaikars. By this time, it's real hard to stay optimistic about this place.

"Great! There must be no electricity there too."

Chapter 2: Going to Yavatmal

How do we go to Yavatmal from Mumbai? The easiest way to go to Yavatmal from Mumbai is to catch a train that goes to Dhamangaon. Personally, Vidarbha express is the best because it leaves in the evening, is super fast and reaches on time in the morning. After you reach Dhamangaon, you catch a bus to Yavatmal. It's a 1 hour bumpy jumpy fun ride.

Due to the lack of knowledge, I ended up in Murtizapur the first time and took a 3 hour bus ride from there. It was very exhausting.

Chapter 3: Yavy

I have to admit, you can't stay negative for a long time about a beautiful place. I wasn't all awestruck or stopped finding flaws in the place but it wasn't that bad. It had electricity, thank God.
The campus was green and huge. I found two girls taking a morning work in the hostel yard. Everyone greeted the new comers with a warm smile.

Maybe I don't belong here, but maybe we can create paradise here. Maybe "Yavatmal" or "Yeoti" or "Yevtmal" does sound ancient and rural. Maybe we can make it sound cool & funky.

I'll call it, "Yavy".

Chapter 4: To be updated.
