You should go for residency quickly. Break the bond. Oh but, what's the rush? He is there for you and he'll take time.

There are many guys out there. You'll find someone.
Remember, if he is like that or if anyone for that matter, you should be glad that you didn't end up being with him. Someone who says he'll be with you in the beginning and then goes back on his words for no reason is not a nice person. You deserve better.

I think to myself, how gracefully she has aged. How I miss the wisdom, advice and "Don't you worry, girl" in her words when I'm in India. How I miss her. So much.
